Hi Lise, I think that's a nice metaphor. Thanks for suggesting it. What comes to mind when you say dance is the tango with it's intricate weaving of leading and following. It epitomizes the reciprocity that we like to point to in taking the communi…

Hello Jane, This reply is coming very late because I am not a regular visitor on The Daisy, and I just saw your post. Hopefully it is still relevant... The metaphor that comes to mind most often since I've started learning about CMM is communicatio…

Hi Kazuma You asked about people in Europe who teach/use CMM. There are quite a lot. Kim Pearce and I will be doing two workshops in Snekkersten, Denmark in November. Both are sponsored by the organization www.dispuk.dk (listed under 'workshops').…

As I wrote the title of this discussion thread, I imagined jokes about "well, about 2/3rds of my committee!" But that's not the point of this posting. You worked hard on your dissertations, and they do make a contribution to the community of folk wo…

Further Framing: As part of the group's orientation, the Stated Clerk of the GA (a main staff person) articulates his greatest hopes for the upcoming GA. They are: 1. Prayerful Decision-making 2. Deeper Awareness of the whole PC (USA) 3. Issues fac…

Hey Barnett, Yes I can see how that genie might be scary. Thanks for the heads up on that dynamic, I had not thought of that. This meeting only deals with Chairs and vice chairs, so maybe that will help. Also, I called the national office to clari…

Early morning thoughts, Jeff... Once you get people looking "at" communication and using some fairly powerful techniques so that they see things they haven't before, it is like letting the genie out of the bottle...and committee chairs and vice-cha…

blog as discussion topic for conversation?

I wonder how a blog based conversation process works relative to topic area based discussion forum. Let's find out if we can comment on comments and how that unfolds.
